It was a cold day at Yankee Stadium, but on the pitch New York City FC was hot, opening the home portion of their 2017 schedule with a dominating 4-0 win over DC United.

Before a crowd of 24,259, New York City rebounded from its frustrating 1-0 loss a weekly earlier on the road against Orlando City SC. Team captain and reigning MVP scored twice while newcomers Maxi Moralez and Rodney Wallace each chipped in with a goal. Keeper Sean Johnson earned his first clean sheet as a member of New York City.
