It will be a busy spring for the St. John’s women’s soccer team as the Red Storm’s seven-match schedule includes contests against two professional sides.
Coming off the 2018 season in which St. John’s finished 5-3-1 in the Big East and 9-9-1 overall, head coach Ian Stone’s team will kick-off its spring schedule against Sky Blue FC of the National Women’s Soccer League. The game is set for March 16 at 3 p.m. at Sportika in Manalapan, N.J.
Four days later the Red Storm will be back on the Belson Stadium pitch to welcome FC Girondins de Bordeaux. The match against the squad that plays in Division I Feminine, the top division of French women’s football, is set for a 6:30 p.m. kick off.
A series of four matchups against college teams begins March 30 when Fordham comes to Queens for a 1 p.m. kick off. This past fall, Fordham finished the season 9-9-1, making a trip to the Atlantic 10 Championship for the ninth time in program history and the third time over the past four seasons.
Siena finished the 2018 season at 11-8-3, falling to Monmouth in the MAAC Championship. Albany earned a berth to the NCAA tournament after capping off the 2018 season, 14-7-2, claiming its third American East Title in four years.
On April 28, the Red Storm will welcome back the Johnnies of year’s past for the program’s annual alumni game, pitting the current roster against some of the top players in St. John’s history at 1 p.m.
