Sky Blue FC remains winless after falling to Portland Thorns FC 1-0 at home on Saturday.

It was another frustrating afternoon for the New Jersey-based club, which lost by a single goal for the fourth time this season.

The only goal of the match came in the 69th minute as Midge Purce scored to give visiting Portland the lead. A deflected shot landed at the feet of Purce, who was able to slip the ball into the back of the net for her first of the season.

Sky Blue keeper Didi Haracic faced 16 shots (7 on goal) and made six saves.

Gina Lewandowski made her Sky Blue debut playing a full 90 minutes at right back. Rookie Kenie Wright made her first appearance of her NWSL career, entering the match during stoppage time.

“Everyone’s been super welcoming, the whole club, the organization, and the girls have been very welcoming and friendly, so it was kind of an easy transition,” said Lewandowski. “I think we had a good performance, certain phases of the game we got dangerous going forward a couple of times but we just need to get more consistency going forward … there were phases where we actually were the better team we just need to do that over a longer period of time.”

Sky Blue FC will return to the pitch June 15 when they face the Utah Royals FC in Sandy, Utah, at the Rio Tinto Stadium. Game time is 10 p.m. ET.
