Seven Seawolves Garner America East WSOC Honors

Just days after Stony Brook’s women’s soccer team clinched a share of the America East regular-season title and the top seed in the conference’s post-season tournament, several Seawolves players were honored for their play during the 2019 season.

Named to the America East All-Conference First Team are junior forward Alyssa Francese, junior forward Fanny Gӧtesson, junior defender Kimmy Chavkin and junior goalkeeper Sofia Manner.

Chelsie DePonte, a junior midfielder was named to the All-Conference Second Team while midfielder Paula Petri and forward Catharina von Drigalski were named to the conference All-Rookie Team.

Stony Brook recently closed out the regular season with a record of 12-5-1 (6-1-1 America East). First-year head coach Tobias Bischof leads the Seawolves into the post-season on Thursday when Stony Brook will play host to the winner of the UNH/Binghamton opening-round playoff match. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
