Two SUNY Old Westbury soccer players received weekly honors from the Skyline Conference.
Women’s soccer junior forward Sarah Roslonowski was named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week for games played September 12-18. In two games last week, Roslonowski registered 10 points on four goals and two assists.
She assisted on the game’s first goal against The City College of New York (Sept. 14) followed by putting away two scores of her own, including the game winner in the 34th minute to lead Old Westbury to a 4-1 win. Roslonowski, a native of Bellerose, contributed to all three Panther goals in the conference-opening 5-3 setback to Purchase (Sept. 17) by netting goals in the 17th and 61st minutes, and assisting in the 33rd minute.
Men’s soccer sophomore goalkeeper Mike Warren was named to the Skyline Conference Weekly Honor Roll for games played September 12-18. The weekly honor was Warren’s second straight after garnering last week’s player of the week award.
In two games last week, Warren made 23 saves in 200 minutes of action to register a 0.90 goals against average while generating a .920 save percentage. Despite allowing a goal in the 85th minute in a 1-0 loss on the road to Kean University (Sept. 14), Warren stopped a career-high 14 shots during a heartbreaking setback. He then followed with a nine-save performance in Old Westbury’s conference opening 1-1 double overtime final at home versus The Sage Colleges (Sept. 17).
The East Meadow native is currently sporting a conference-leading 1.01 GAA while ranking second in both save percentage (.868) and saves per game (7.67). On the season, Warren (1-1-4) has 46 save in 620 minutes of action.
