In his second season with the LIU Post men’s soccer team, Lukas Ostermann averaged more than a goal game in leading the Pioneers to the NCAA Division II East Region Final.
Now, the native of Saterland, Germany, was named to a Men’s Division II Second Team All-American by United Soccer Coaches.
In two seasons with LIU Post, Ostermann appeared in 39 matches with 41 goals and 12 assists. Thirteen of those goals were game-winners. His 23 goals were also second in the nation.
During the regular season, Ostermann scored in 14 of 16 matches, including eight multi-goal games. During the postseason, he tallied the game-winning goal to help the Pioneers to its fourth-consecutive East Coast Conference championship against Mercy College.
His 23 goals rank second all-time in program history, finishing just one tally shy of the program mark of 24 set by Eivind Austobe during the 2013 season.
