Levittown Win One-Goal Thriller To Take Boys U-18 State Title

The Levittown Rage brought another State Open Cup to Long Island with a 1-0 win over Eleftheria/Pancyprian Spartans.

In a match played June 9 at Peter Collins Park in Plainview, John Murphy scored the game’s only goal and Levittown keeper Mavin Kakkar earned the clean sheet in the Boys U-18 title game.

“We played Eleftheria/Pancyprian before, winning 7-1 on turf,” said Manfred Kapper, Levittown’s coach. “They are very well-coached and we could not adjust to their rhythm and played more kick-and-run than our normal possession game.”

Levittown will represent the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) at the Regionals from June 29 to July 3 in Spotsylvania, Virginia as part of the National Championship Series.
