With four goals over her past two games, St. John’s redshirt junior Zsani Kajan was named the Big East Offensive Player of the Week.
The past week for the Budapest, Hungary, began with a flurry as her hat-trick was key in the Red Storm’s 4-3 come-from-behind victory over Villanova. Her third goal of the game 25-seconds into extra time completed the comeback.
Kajan would then net St. John’s lone goal in a 1-1 draw with Creighton.
The four-goal performance over the past week allowed Kajan to hit the 10 goal mark for the second time in her career. She finished her redshirt sophomore season with 11 goals. She joins Johnnies Cristin Burtis and Rachel Daly as the only players in the program’s history to record double-digit goals in multiple seasons.
Kajan and her teammates return to action Thursday for the final match of the 2019 regular season, as the Johnnies travel to No. 14 Georgetown. First kick is scheduled for 2 p.m.
