While the Garnet dominated play and outshot Farmingdale State 22-5 they were unable to get on past Ford (Elmont) who made five saves in the first and second halves.
The game-winning goal came in the 88th minute as Parrotta of Centereach scored from about 10 yards out after she got on the end of a long cross from freshman Kayla Duvenhorst of Levittown.
Farmingdale State’s victory over a ranked opponent comes just a day after the Rams fell 1-0 in overtime to No. 2 Williams, which is also the defending Division III National Champions. The game-winning goal was scored by Williams with less than three minutes remaining in overtime. In the loss, Ford made 10 saves.
Farmingdale State returns to conference action when they host Yeshiva on Tuesday, October 9, at 4 p.m.
