Two members of LIU Post’s soccer teams received weekly honors from the East Coast Conference (ECC) for their defensive play.
In three starts this past week, Eklow made eight saves and posted a pair of shutouts. She turned aside four shots in a scoreless tie Friday (Oct. 14) at Roberts Wesleyan, and added another four stops in a 1-0 win at Daemen on Sunday (Oct. 16).
Eklow, who has the second-most shutouts (6) in the conference in 2016, currently boasts a league-leading 9-2-2 record with 38 saves and a 0.62 goals-against average. Her 0.62 GAA is the second-lowest amongst ECC netminders.
Arvidsson, who led a backline that allowed just one goal in a pair of victories last week, scored three goals and added an assist for a team-leading seven points in the two contests.
He tallied the game’s lone goal in the 13th minute in a 1-0 win at Roberts Wesleyan on Friday (Oct. 14), and followed that up with a two-goal, one-assist showing in an 8-1 victory at Daemen on Sunday (Oct. 16).
