During her college playing days at St. John’s Rachel Daly was a goal-scoring machine finding the back of the net 50 times in three seasons with the Red Storm.
On Saturday, August 11, Daly was back in the New York Metropolitan Area with the Houston Dash and was again scoring goals. In her team’s 2-1 win over Sky Blue FC at Yurcak Field on the campus of Rutgers University, the England International scored twice.
Her first tally came in the 7th minute off a feed from Kealia Ohai that gave Houston a 1-0 lead. With the match tied at 1, Daly would put the Dash ahead for good as she scored from the penalty spot in the 73rd minute. On the season, the former St. John’s star is fourth in the NWSL with 9 goals.
