It was another win and another clean sheet Saturday for the New York Cosmos, which defeated Kingston Stockdale 2-0 on the road in Kingston, N.Y.

Aaron Dennis and Giuseppe Barone each scored for the visitors and Cosmos keeper Paul Blanchette earned the clean sheet. The win over Kingston follows New York’s 2-0 season-opening win over New York Athletic Club the prior week.

The Cosmos broke through in the 37th minute when Dennis headed home a right-wing cross from the overlapping Kevin Venegas. A member of the U.S. Virgin Islands national team, Dennis has scored in both Cosmos games this season

In the second half, New York extended its lead after Barone, who replaced Dennis in the 68th minute, was able to connect on a long-range shot.

After collecting a pass from second-half substitute Charlie Ledula at midfield, Barone noticed that Kingston goalkeeper Lucas Vallilo was out of his net. He took one dribble and sent a 50-yard shot over the goalkeeper’s head for a 70th-minute goal.

The Cosmos return to action against Black Rock FC in the U.S. Open Cup at Rocco B. Commisso Stadium in New York City on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

They welcome Boston City FC in their second NPSL regular-season home match at Mitchel Athletic Complex in Uniondale on Saturday, May 11, at 7 p.m.
