Following a week in which the St. John’s women’s soccer team went 1-0-1, two of its star players were named to the Big East weekly honor roll

Forward Zsani Kajan and goalkeeper Meredith Reinhardt, both redshirt sophomores, were honored for their respective efforts during the past week, most notably the Red Storm’s 2-1 win over Butler.

Kajan received conference honors for the second time this season after pacing the St. John’s offense with two goals and seven shots over two games. The Budapest, Hungary, native scored both of goals against second-place Butler. She now has nine goals and 20 points on the season, which ranks her second in both categories in the Big East.

Reinhardt, who has been recognized by the conference in back-to-back weeks, was in goal for both of St. John’s matches this past week, which included six saves in a scoreless draw vs. Providence. Her big moment came in the Red Storm’s win over Bulter. With 13 minutes remaining, the native of Scottsdale, Ariz., saved a game-tying penalty kick by reigning Big East Offensive Player of the Year Paige Monaghan.
