Sky Blue FC will begin the home portion of its 2018 National Women’s Soccer League schedule in mid-April against the Seattle Reign.
Set for Sunday, April 15, with a 5 p.m. kickoff, the match at Yurcak Field will also serve as the first home game for New Jersey native Carli Lloyd. The team’s complete season schedule has yet to be released.
Sky Blue and teams across NWSL will play a 24-game schedule (12 home, 12 away) with the season beginning March 24 and culminating the week of September 8-9. The playoffs will commence the following weekend, with semifinal games being played from September 14-16 and the championship taking place on Saturday, September 22.
Sky Blue’s preseason will begin Monday, February 19, at Sportika’s state-of-the-art facility in Manalapan, N.J. The team will play four preseason matches at Sportika Sports:
- Saturday, February 24, 6 p.m. against Penn State University
- Saturday, March 3, 3 p.m. against the University of North Carolina
- Saturday, March 10, 1 p.m. against West Virginia University
- Sunday, March 18, 2 p.m. against St. John’s University
All four Sky Blue FC preseason matches will be open to the public, and admission to attend will be free. Sportika Sports, which is the presenting sponsor of the 2018 Sky Blue FC Preseason, is located at 150 Woodward Road in Manalapan, N.J.
