HBC Impact, Dix Hills Elite In Texas For National Championships

The two Long Island teams at the 2017 US Youth Soccer National Championships were among the 96 teams that took part in a welcome breakfast on Sunday at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas.

HBC Impact won the Region 1 title over Fourth of July weekend for the third year in a row and will now compete for a national title, this time at the Girls U-17 age level. The impact this season was 8-0-0 in the GU17 division in the Eastern Regional Premier League



Joining HBC in Texas will be Dix Hills Elite in the Men’s U19/20 division. Despite losing to Penn Fusion 98 (Pennsylvania) 6-0 in the Region I finals, Dix Hills qualified as the Region I representative with Penn Fusion having previously qualified via the US Youth Soccer National League.

“This time of year is so special. It is the end of a season, but the beginning of a week that you will remember for the rest of your lives,” said John Sutter, past chair of US Youth Soccer. “On behalf of US Youth Soccer, I want to congratulate you, your teammates, your coaches, those behind the scenes that get everything organized and especially your parents.”

The final ascent to the National Championship begins with round robin play Tuesday, July 25, with games at 7:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Preliminary games continue Wednesday and Thursday. After a day off on Friday, 15U through 19/20U teams will play semifinals on the morning of Saturday, July 29, before the first champions are decided when the 13U and 14U sides compete in their final matches that night. The 15U through 19/20U National champions will be crowned on Sunday, July 30.

  • Tuesday, July 25, 7 a.m., vs. OFC 98 (Oklahoma)
  • Wednesday, July 26, 9 a.m., vs. Chicago Fire Juniors South (Illinois)
  • Thursday, July 27, 7 a.m., vs. FC United (Illinois)
