The New York Cosmos clinched the regular-season North Atlantic Conference crown Sunday with a 2-0 win over Rhode Island Reds FC in National Premier Soccer League action.

Striker Isaac Acuna, who tallied in his Cosmos debut last week, added two more goals to give him three in less than two full games.

The win at Mitchel Athletic Complex kept the Cosmos (36 points) unbeaten at 12-0-0. If New York wins their final two contests of the season, they will have home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

The Cosmos also have won 22 consecutive regular-season matches dating back to the start of the 2018 NPSL season.

Goalkeeper Jesse Corke recorded the shutout for the Cosmos, who have allowed only four goals this season.

Acuna did all of his scoring in the first half. Midway through the period, Ansi Agolli banged a shot off the crossbar as Acuna was there to headed the ball home. Acuna added a second goal several minutes later to give the Cosmos a 2-0 halftime lead.

The Cosmos have two regular-season games remaining this season at Mitchel. They welcome the Brooklyn Italians on July 3 at 8 p.m. and Kingston Stockade FC on July 6 at 7 p.m.

The playoffs begin July 10.
