Adelphi WSOC Sits Atop Preseason NE10 Coaches Poll

For the third consecutive year, Adelphi’s women’s soccer team has been chosen as the top team in the Northeast-10 Conference Preseason Coaches Poll.

The defending regular season NE10 champions received 185 points and 6 first-place votes finishing ahead of Southern New Hampshire, which won the league’s tournament title in 2017 and in this year’s poll received 180 points and 6 first-place votes.

Adelphi and Southern New Hampshire are also both ranked nationally to begin the 2018 campaign. The Panthers are No. 15 in the United Soccer Coaches’ poll, while the Penmen check in at No. 24.

Rounding out the Top-5 in the NE10 poll is Franklin Pierce in third with 166 points and 1 first-place vote, Saint Rose at No. 4 with 158 points and 1 first-place vote and Assumption at No.5 with 141 points and 1 first-place vote.

Head coach Brooke DeRosa’s team opens the 2018 season on Friday, August 31, in a non-conference matchup at Wilmington University in Delaware. The Panthers will kick-off at 4 p.m.
