Vancouver netminder David Ousted was voted the June Etihad Airways MLS Player of the Month by fans on MLSSoccer.com.

Leading the Whitecaps FC to a 3-1 record for the month, Ousted conceded only four goals in the side’s four matches and had his seventh clean sheet of the season. Vancouver enjoyed a good month with wins over Western Conference rivals LA Galaxy, New York Red Bulls and New England Revolution.

With Ousted in net, Whitecaps FC snapped the Galaxy’s 23-game home unbeaten run at the StubHub Center and the Revolution’s 17-match home unbeaten streak at Gillette Stadium.

Perhaps his best effort of the month came in Vancouver’s win over New York on June 20. Ousted turned away two penalty kick attempts from Bradley Wright-Phillips, who lead MLS in goals during the 2014 season.
