Two Long Islanders Earn DIII All-American Honors

Two Long Islanders have been named Division III All-Americans by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

South Setauket’s Anthony Passiatore, a senior defender at SUNY Oneonta, was named to the men’s first team while Port Jefferson Station’s Michaela Friedman, a senior defender at Brandeis University, was named to the women’s third team.

Passiatore, a graduate of Ward Melville High School, has been a four-year starter for the Red Dragons. This fall he has contributed three goals and two assists as a defender while anchoring a defense that has held opponents to a 0.90 goals against.

Friedman, a graduate of Comsewogue High School, has appeared in 23 matches this season and scored 1 goal and 3 assists. She has anchored a Brandeis defense that has held opponents to a 0.59 goals-against average and picked up 13 shutouts in 23 contests so far.
