Three Local Teams Compete In Presidents Cup

National-Presidents-Cup-Day-Four-031Three youth soccer teams from the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) will be competing in the Regional Presidents Cup to be held Memorial Day weekend.

The three local teams going to Maryland are Bay Shore Lions (LIJSL Boys U-14 Division 1), Lynbrook/East Rockaway Screaming Eagles (LIJSL Girls U-15 Premier Division) and Westchester United (ENYPL Boys U-17 Division).

The Regionals will be played from May 28 to May 30 in Reistertown, Maryland, with the winners advancing to the National Presidents Cup in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to be held from July 14 to July 17.

The Presidents Cup offers an opportunity to play regional competition similar to the State Open Cup and is designed for those teams seeking additional challenges to play against teams of similar abilities for a national title.

In 2011, 2012 and 2013, the Capital United Blue Fusion of the Capital District Youth Soccer League (CDYSL) won the Regionals and represented Eastern New York at the Nationals, winning the Girls-Under-17 National Presidents Cup in 2013.
