Hofstra’s Miri Taylor capped a big week with her first career Colonial Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Week award.
The sophomore from Gillingham, England, scored twice and added two assists in two wins for the Pride during the past week.
Against Drexel, Taylor assisted on the game-tying goal in the second half before scoring the game-winner less than two minutes into extra-time to give Hofstra a 2-1 win over the Dragons.
In a 5-0 win over Elon, she again played the dual role of helper and goal-scorer. Taylor assisted on what would prove to be the game-winning goal and then scored a goal of her own in the 13th minute against the Phoenix.
With 14 points through Hofstra’s first 11 games this season, she ranks second on the team. Taylor is also is tied with Lucy Shepherd for the team lead in assists with six and is tied with Sabrina Bryan for second on the team with four goals.
Also receiving CAA weekly honors this week are Mikenna McManus of Northeastern as the Defensive Player of the Week and Grace Powell of Charleston as the Rookie of the Week.
