SUSA Adds Red Storm Duo To WPSL Roster

Two current members of the St. John’s Women’s Soccer Team with strong Long Island roots have joined SUSA FC for the upcoming WPSL season.

Red Storm teammates Christina Bellero and Alexa Dolgos will also spend the summer together on the pitch for SUSA.

Bellero, a native of Melville and graduate of Half Hollow Hills East High School, just completed her junior year at St. John’s. During the 2017 season in which she appeared in 18 matches (17 starts), Bellero led the Red Storm in scoring with 7 goals and 3 assists. During her first three years with the Johnnies, Bellero has a total of 14 goals.

During her high school playing days, Bellero led Hills East in scoring during her sophomore, junior and senior seasons, scoring 20 goals during her final season. In 2015 she was named All-State, All-County and Second Team All-Long Island.

Dolgos, a native of Bethpage and a graduate of Island Trees High School, also completed her junior season at St. John’s. The defender appeared in 16 matches with 10 starts and had 1 assist. She has appeared in 43 matches during her first three years at St. John’s.

In high school, Dolgos was a five-year varsity player that included two years as a captain. A three-time All-County and two-time All-State honoree, she scored 23 goals during her final two years in high school.
