On September 17, Stony Brook freshman Alyssa Francese made her first start for the women’s soccer team and over that eight-game span has been an offensive force for the Seawolves.
Now, for the third time this season, the Yorktown native has been named America East Rookie of the Week. Her latest on-field exploits came against the University of Maryland-Baltimore County when she scored twice in Stony Brook’s 6-1 win.
Francese has a team-high eight goals through October 16, which ranks No. 4 in the conference. All eight of those goals came in eight games and include a hat-trick in her first start, a 6-0 win over Wagner.
