Following its 3-0 start to the season the St. John’s men’s soccer team has entered the United Soccer Coaches Top-25 poll.

In the ranking released September 10, the Red Storm sits at No. 19. In the previous week’s Division I men’s soccer poll St. John’s was ranked outside the Top-25 but received 41 votes from pollsters.

Dr. Dave Masur’s team kicked off its 2019 campaign on the road in North Carolina over Labor Day weekend. The Red Storm left the Tar Heel State with wins over Appalachian State 2-0 and North Carolina State 1-0 (2OT).

This past Friday, the team returned to Belson Stadium and defeated Manhattan 3-0.

On the offensive side, the Red Storm is led by sophomore Tani Oluwaseyi with two goals and an assist. The goalkeeping tandem of redshirt freshman Luka Gavran and junior Jan Hoffelner have combined on three clean sheets.
