Cold Spring Harbor’s Lauren Spinnato this fall will play in her fourth season with Binghamton University’s women’s soccer team.
And when she hits the pitch for the start of the 2019 season, she will do so as one of three captains, joined by Abby Wick and Erin Theiller.
“We are very pleased to announce Lauren, Erin and Abby as our captains for this upcoming season,” said Neel Bhattacharjee, the team’s head coach. “All three of these leaders have exhibited the qualities we strive for within the Bearcats program. They will bring a positive culture and supportive outlook, strong communication, a selfless work ethic and a competitive winning mentality.
In her first three seasons at the update New York university Spinnato has played in 53 games — 49 starts — with more than 4,400 minutes of game action as part of the Bearcats defense.
During her playing days at Cold Spring Harbor High School, Spinnato was a four-year starter, captain and two-time most valuable player.
