Another Garden State native will be back with Sky Blue FC in 2020.

Defender Erica Skroski has agreed to a one-year contract with an option for a second year. Entering her fifth season with Sky Blue, in 2019 she started 24 matches and completed 85 clearances, had 46 interceptions and 20 blocks.

“I am so excited to be back with Sky Blue and to continue to represent the club and New Jersey,” said Skroski. “It’s an extremely exciting time for the club and I think it’s going to be a very fun and competitive season.”

The native of Galloway Township was drafted by Sky Blue out of Rutgers University with the No. 23 overall pick in the 2016 NWSL College Draft. She has appeared in 85 games (84 starts) for the Blues.

“We are thrilled to re-sign Erica and have her compete at Red Bull Arena in front of her local crowd,” said Freya Coombe, Sky Blue’s head coach. “Erica brings such strength and speed to our backline and is ferocious in the tackle.”
