Overview: From the mundane to the unexplainable. That was the Sky Blue/Seattle match in a nutshell. With the Reign holding a slim 1-0 lead coming out of halftime, the Reign appeared to have the match well in hand as goals by Rapinoe and Yanez along with a Sky Blue own goal gave the home side a 4-0 lead. But as the clocked hit the hour market, the Blues’ offense suddenly came alive. Four goals in only 16 minutes leveled the match and it appeared as if Sky Blue would be coming home with at least one point. But Megan Rapinoe doused those hopes as she scored her third of the match three minutes before the 90-minute mark.

Sky Blue FC Head Coach Christy Holly…
“We are obviously very disappointed with the outcome of the game. We put ourselves in a hole, but again these girls showed exactly what kind of class they have by digging themselves out and getting back in contention. However, we know that we must improve defensively if we expect to have more positive outcomes.”
