Sheridan A Finalist For Top NWSL Goalkeeper

Sky Blue FC’s Kailen Sheridan is one of three finalists nominated for the National Women’s Soccer League’s Goalkeeper of the Year.

Serving as the backbone of Sky Blue’s defensive effort this season, the native of Whitby, Ontario, Canada, finished the 2019 season tied for the league lead with 86. She appeared in 19 matches playing 1,710 minutes with a 1.32 goals-against average.

In addition to Sheridan, the other finalists for Goalkeeper of the Year are Aubrey Bledsoe of the Washington Spirit and Casey Murphy of Reign FC.

In the preliminary round of voting, owners, general managers, coaches, players and the media voted on the individual awards to determine the top finalists.

The final round of voting uses a weighted scale, broken down by players (40%), owners/GMs/coaches (20%), media (20%) and fans (20%).
