Season Preview: Molloy College Women’s Soccer

Ranked fifth in the East Coast Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, the Molloy College women’s soccer team could be primed for a bounce-back season. 

Following 2018 when the team finished with a 6-9-2 record, the Lions return several key players this season. They have an eye on qualifying for ECC post-season play and qualification to the NCAA Tournament.

Head coach Steve Price talked about preparing for the season and offered his thoughts on the 2019 campaign in the video below.

Players To Watch

Offense: Key players on the attack include junior Dana Poetzsch of Hicksville, sophomores Joanna Graca of Westbury and Lexi Verni of Patchogue, senior Amy D’Eloia of Northport, junior Lauren Marinello of Merrick and sophomore Annie Coogan of Merrick.

Defense: Junior keeper Jackie Carty of East Islip is back for another season in Rockville Centre. In 2018 she was second in the conference in save percentage (.828) and third in saves with 106. Other key members of the defensive corp are graduate student Daria Castrogivanni of Commack and Jessica Mauro of South Hempstead.
