Sayville’s Ross Named Wagner WSOC Captain

Sayville native Kaitlyn Ross has been named a captain of the women’s soccer team at Wagner College for the 2019 season.

The senior and Sayville High School graduate will serve as one of three captains for head coach Phil Casella. Also named team captains along with Ross are Christine Letendre and Maria Nunez.

Ross, a three-time Northeast Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll honoree and two-time Fall Commissioner’s Honor Roll selection, played in 12 matches in the 2018 season, earning the start in 11 of those contests. The defender logged a season-high 97 minutes at Long Island University on October 6 of last year.

During her first three seasons at the Staten Island-based college, Ross has appeared in 42 matches with 37 starts.
