Long Island Rough Riders defender Amanda Buck was named to the United Women’s Soccer Team of the Week for Week IV.

Buck, an Islip High School graduate who played her college ball at Wagner College, received the honor for her strong defensive play in Long Island’s 2-0 win over the Rochester Lancers.

League-wide, Riley Tanner of Grand Rapids FC was named Offensive Player of the Week, while Kelly O’Brien was the Lancaster Inferno was named Defensive Player of the Week.

  • M Taylor Bubnick (Queen City United) – University of Regina Cougars star notches the first goal in QCU history
  • D Rachel Wood (New England Mutiny) – strong display from former Boston Breaker impressed both teams
  • D Caroline Kopp (Syracuse DA) – America East Defender of the Year tallies goal in first-ever UWS win
  • GK Kelly O’Brien (Lancaster Inferno) – five saves including a late stop on a free kick in shutout vs. NJCFC

  • F Ashley Sanchez (Santa Clarita Blue Heat)* – UCLA star’s GWG from distance to cement win over Colorado

  • M Teresa Rook (Lancaster Inferno) – assisted on GWG & led Lancaster attack in win over New Jersey
  • D Charlotte Potts (Calgary Foothills WFC) – former Sunderland AFC & Newcastle United backbones win
  • D Annie Steinlage (Grand Rapids FC) – “monster” defense from the former professional in victory
