Rose Bowl To Host U.S./Mexico CONCACAF Playoff

1280px-RosebowlThe CONCACAF representative at the 2017 Confederations Cup in Russia will be decided October 9 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif.

That was the word Sunday night following Mexico’s 3-1 victory over Jamaica in the 2015 Gold Cup Finals. El Tri will face the United States, winners of the 2013 Gold Cup.

In April of 2013, CONCACAF announced the split of the region’s berth to the Confederations Cup between two editions of the CONCACAF Gold Cup, assuring that both editions of the Gold Cup in each 4-year cycle have the same importance from a competitive perspective.

Participating member associations and its supporter groups will have access to purchase tickets in advance of the public sale. Tickets will be available to the general public in September.

The Oct. 9 playoff game will be played during a FIFA international match window.
