Sky Blue FC will be back on the pitch Saturday seeking its first win of the season as they travel to Cary, N.C., to face the North Carolina Courage.

The match at Sahlen’s Stadium will kickoff at 7 p.m.

Coming off of a 2-2 draw in Matchday 3 at home against the Portland Thorns, Sky Blue FC Head Coach Denise Reddy said her team is looking to build off the moment created in its previous match.

“We, of course, will respect their attacking abilities, but we are looking to build up and focus on what we do,” she said.

Sky Blue is 1-4-1 all-time against North Carolina. The New Jersey-based team currently sits in eighth place in the NWSL standings, ahead of the Orlando Pride and one point behind Reign FC.

This past week, the Courage defeated the Houston Dash 4-1 on the road at BBVA Compass Stadium. Lynn Williams, Crystal Dunn, Debinha and Leah Pruitt scored a goal each. Williams netted her 40th career NWSL goal and now sits in fourth of all-time goals scored.

Dunn, a native of Rockville Centre, earned NWSL Player of the Month, scoring four goals in three games. She leads the league in goals scored.

The Courage will be missing some key players going into the match-up due to international duty. Abby Dahlkemper, Samantha Mewis, Jess McDonald and Dunn have all been named to the U.S. Women’s National Team roster for the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Following its match with North Carolina, Sky Blue FC returns home for a second meeting with the Washington Spirit on Saturday, May 11, at 3 p.m. The Blues will then travel west for their first meeting of the season with Reign FC (May 18, 4 p.m.) at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma, Wash.
