Porter Nets Third CAA Player Of The Week Honor

For the third time this season, Hofstra’s Lucy Porter has been named the Colonial Athletic Association’s women’s soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

As the Pride closed out the regular season en route to the CAA regular-season title, Porter was once again a key cog in the team’s offensive. 

During the past week the native of Birmingham, England, had two goals and two assists in wins over Towson and William & Mary.

In a 5-1 win over Towson, Porter scored two goals within three minutes with her first goal going in the books as her fifth game-winning goal of the season. Against William & Mary in the regular-season finale, Porter assisted on both goals in a 2-1 win over the Tribe.

She finished the regular season with 14 goals and seven assists. Prior to the start of the post-season, Porter leads the CAA in several offensive categories including points, points per game, goals, goals per game and is tied for first in game-winning goals. She also leads the conference with six multiple-point games.

Also honored this week by the CAA was Sara D’Appolonia of Delaware as co-Offensive Player of the Week and Mikenna McManus of Northeastern as Defensive Player of the Week.
