Senior Felicia LaPera (West Babylon) rounded out the Molloy scoring with two goals. With the draw, the Lions move to 3-3-1 on the season.

The first of the game’s 10 goals was scored early on as Poetzsch got her first of the match in the sixth minute from the penalty spot.

Georgian Court (6-3-2) in the 26th minute would draw level on a goal from Heather Arbachesky, and two minutes later the home team would take the lead after Lauren Mendez found the back of the net to give the Lions a 2-1 advantage.

A minute later, Molloy would tie the game at two as LaPera would score her first of the match off an assist from junior Katlyn Merino (Corona)

The see-saw first half would continue as Georgian Court’s Anissia Fucci’s goal in the 40th minute would put the Lions ahead 3-2, a lead they would take into halftime.

Four minutes into the second half, Poetzsch would score her second of the game off an assist from senior Mariella Gotti (Valley Stream), and then complete the hat-trick in the 60th minute to give Molloy a 4-3 lead.

But Georgian Court responded with goals from Fucci and Kaitlin Lister in the 64th and 65th minutes respectively to hold a 5-4 lead.

As the clock ticked toward the end of regulation, LaPera finished a pass from Poetzsch for her second goal of the contest to tie the score at five in the 89th minute.

In the overtime sessions, each team registered a shot, but couldn’t find the game-winner.

Molloy freshman keeper Jackie Carty (East Islip) had a busy afternoon facing 13 shots on goal and made eight saves.
