NYCSL Expanding Boys NPL Division

The National Premier Leagues (NPL) continue to expand in the New York Metropolitan Area with the addition of AC Connecticut to New York Club Soccer League’s (NYCSL) NPL Division.

Boys teams from AC Connecticut will join NYCSL beginning in the 2019-2020 season.

“AC Connecticut had made great efforts in CCSL & Metro competitions and we’re delighted it has now been rewarded with acceptance into US Club Soccer’s ENPL (Elite National Premier League) structure,” said John Curtis, Technical Director of the NYCSL. “We wish their teams the very best of luck in the NPL and hope NYCSL platforms continue to support the clubs’ development.”

Beginning this fall, the league will also offer team-based NPL Divisions. They will initially be comprised of NY Cup winners and NYCSL Premier League champions. Additional teams will be selected by invitation only.

While there will be an expansion on the boys’ side, teams from the girls NYCSL-NPL Division have been perennial contenders at the annual Girls NPL Finals. A New York Club Soccer League Girls NPL Division member has claimed an NPL national title at each of the past four NPL Finals. This includes SUSA’s Girls U-15 team in the summer of 2018.

In addition, NPL is adding the New Jersey-based Alliance Soccer League as its 21st member. The club-based, player-focused league features boys teams from U-8 to U-19. Teams U-14 and above will qualify for the ENPL postseason.

Alliance will also feature a team-based second division of NPL competition for boys. A Girls NPL competition will be established for the 2020-2021 season.
