Another season opener for New York City FC in central Florida and another draw for the team from the Bronx, which will feel disappointed after holding a two-goal lead at halftime.

With new designated player Alexandru Mitriță and 18-year-old homegrown player James Sands in the lineup, NYCFC got goals from Ebenezer Ofori in the 13 minute and Alex Ring in the 45th minute gave the visitors what appeared to be a comfortable lead over Orlando City SC.

But the host would battle back.

In the 59th minute, Chris Mueller would narrow New York City’s lead to one from a set-piece and 16 minutes later Tesho Akindele would level the match at two.

While Orlando dominated possession 58 percent to 42 percent, the teams were even on total shots with 13 with six on target for New York City FC and four on target for Orlando City.
