NYCFC Adds SUSA As Local Club Affiliate

Over the past year, Long Island-based SUSA has expanded its reach by joining the Women’s Premier Soccer League and Elite Clubs National League.

Now, SUSA has signed on with New York City FC’s Academy to become its seventh local club affiliate. According to NYCFC, the affiliation gives the Hauppauge-based academy access to NYCFC Academy training sessions, shared best practices and a direct link with the Major League Soccer club.

“We are excited to offer our SUSA players a direct link and pathway to a professional club,” said Eddie Hackett, SUSA’s boys Director of Coaching.

In addition, SUSA will be able to have teams play in the NYCFC owned and operated City Development League, a U8-U11 league made up exclusively of NYCFC Affiliates aimed at enhancing player development.

“The City Development League format is ideal for player development and creates a fun environment for our players, parents and coaches,” said Dan Kravitsky, SUSA CDL Technical Director.”

The six other local club affiliates are World Class FC, New York Soccer Club, Downtown United SC, Manhattan SC, Met Oval and TSF.

Founded in 2001, SUSA current has more than 50 boys and girls academy teams, and a variety of other programs including junior academy and Futsal. This past summer, SUSA’s WPSL team debuted and this fall its first ECNL teams hit the pitch.
