Cosmos Add Two Matches To Pre-Season Schedule

North American Soccer League champions New York Cosmos has added to its preseason schedule of games in California.

On Saturday, February 20, New York will face off against Armenian first division side, Ararat Yerevan FC, at Citrus College Stadium at 10 p.m. eastern time. On Wednesday, February 24, the Cosmos will play Fresno Fuego at Chukchansi Park with kickoff at 9.30 p.m. eastern time..

The club will play three fixtures in California, organized by Champions Soccer, including a game against the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday, February 27, at Avaya Stadium, which was previously announced.

“We are delighted to add another two fixtures to our preseason campaign,” said New York Cosmos Head Coach Giovanni Savarese. “All three teams will be a good test for us and the warmer climate of California will certainly be welcomed.”

Ararat Yerevan FC competes in the Armenian Premier League and are the most popular club in Armenia. They’ve won two league titles and seven Armenian Cups. The club’s head coach, Varuzhan Sukiasyan, also manages the Armenian national team.

USL Premier Development League team, Fresno Fuego, has earned four Southwest division titles since its debut match in 2003.

The Cosmos’ 2016 North American Soccer League season begins in April. The full schedule will be released in the coming weeks.
