NYCFC Opening 2017 Matches Set

NYCFC, Protected List, expansion draft, New York City FC

For the second time over the past three years New York City FC will begin its season in Central Florida.

The Citizens will open its 2017 schedule on March 5 against their former head coach Jason Kreis and Orlando City SC at the newly-constructed soccer-specific Orlando City Stadium, which will be hosting its first Major League Soccer match. Kickoff is 5 p.m.

A week later, New York City will open its home slate as it welcomes DC United to Yankee Stadium for a 2 p.m. kickoff. NYCFC have won both of its home meetings with DC, 3-1 and 3-2 in 2015 and 2016 respectively.

The complete regular season schedule, along with the national television schedules for the United States and Canada, will be announced in January.
