Molloy College’s soccer programs walked away with two Player of the Week honors this week from the East Coast Conference.

On the men’s side, senior Anthony Cestaro was named Offensive Player of the Week. On the women’s side, junior goalkeeper Jackie Carty was named the conference Defensive Player of the Week.

A native of Massapequa, Cestaro received the honor after scoring the game-winning goal in Molloy’s 2-1 in over New Haven on September 8.

Carty received weekly defensive honors after recording two clean sheets to start the season. She made eight saves in the season-opening 1-0 win over Stonehill College. The East Islip native would then make nine saves in a scoreless draw with Bentley University.

ECC Honor Roll

• Nikki Bermudez, New York Tech (Jr, M/F — Oceanside)
In a loss to Wilmington, Bermudez twice evened the score — at 1-1 and 2-2 — in an eventual 3-2 loss. It was the first multi-goal game of her career.

• Victoria Ramirez, Queens (Sr, F – Valley Stream)
Ramirez was a helpful distributor in much of the Knights’ 6-2 win over Concordia (NY) on September 8 as the senior assisted on five of the Knights’ goals in the win while also putting forward two shots on target herself.
