The Massapequa Soccer Club is joining the Super Y League and will begin play in its North Atlantic Division in 2019.
According to its website, the league is focused on player development and providing clubs an opportunity to play against elite competition. Among the benefits offered include a Regional Scouting Series, partnerships with youth soccer leaders and advanced player tracking.
The league currently features boys and girls teams from the east, south and midwestern portions of the country ranging in age from U-11 to U-19. A survey of the various age groups found teams from local organizations such as Long Island Rough Riders and Port Washington Soccer Club.
“Massapequa Soccer Club is looking forward to being part of the future growth of the Super Y League,” said Paul Bigilin, the club’s director of Coaching. “It has become very important for our club to be associated with the right leagues and organizations that foster and encourage player development, coaching and player game day standards, while still embracing the match day experience for all players and families for the good of the game.”
According to the league, Massapequa is the first announced new member of the 2019 North Atlantic Division. Additional clubs in the region and from across the country are expected to be revealed as members of Super Y in the weeks and months ahead.
“We are thrilled to have Massapequa Soccer Club join the Super Y League ahead of the 2019 season,” said Dominic Colarusso, manager, USL of Youth League Growth & Development. “The club has a long, proud history of developing talented players and sending them to the collegiate ranks and beyond.”
