For 110 minutes zeros dominated the scoreboard at Pioneer Soccer Park as neither LIU Post or Queens College could find the back of the net.
In the end, the No. 2 seed Pioneers would defeat No. 3 Queens 5-4 on penalty kicks in an East Coast Conference semifinal matchup. LIU Post will meet Mercy in the ECC finals this weekend. Day and time of the match were not available at press time.
Queens finished the match with a 12-11 advantage in shots (7-4 on goal) and in corner kicks, 8-5. Pioneers senior goalkeeper Oliver Hessner Hansen made seven saves on the day. His biggest stop would come in penalties when he would block the shot from the Knights Adrian Garcia.
It was an instant classic @ECCSports semifinal matchup between No. 2 @LIUPMSOC and No. 3 seed Queens, with the Pioneers advancing to their eighth-straight ECC Championship match in PK's! #PioneerNation ?⚽️
