Two Long Islanders playing their college ball at Binghamton University received women’s soccer Player of the Week honors from the America East Conference.

Sarah Dibble, a junior forward from Lake Ronkonkoma, was named the Co-Offensive Player of the Week. Her Bearcats teammate, sophomore goalkeeper Haylee Poltorak of Massapequa, was named Defensive Player of the Week.

On the pitch for only 16 minutes against New Hampshire, Dibble had a goal and an assist in Binghamton’s 2-0 win over the Wildcats on September 29. The game-winning goal was also her first goal first of the season. This is Dibble’s first career Offensive Player of the Week honor.

Poltorak continued her strong play this season as she made four saves and earned her fifth clean sheet of the 2019 campaign in Binghamton’s win over New Hampshire. With a goals-against-average of 0.98, she has been a key component in the Bearcats 8-2-1 start.

Other weekly honorees include Sierra Stone, a senior midfielder at Hartford, as Co-Offensive Player of the Week; and Maya Anand, a freshman forward at Binghamton, as the conference Rookie of the Week.
