Ledula, Saramago Named To PDL All-Conference Team

The 2018 PDL All-Eastern Conference Team includes two players with connections to Long Island.

Charlie Ledula of the Long Island Rough Riders and Brian Saramago of New York Red Bulls U23 were each named to the Eastern Conference Starting XI.

During the 2018 PDL season, Ledula played in 13 matches for Long Island and led the team with 10 goals while also chipping in with an assist. He was a key figure for the Rough Riders who were in the playoff hunt through the final week of the season.

A senior at LIU Post, Ledula’s first three years with the Pioneers have seen the London, England-native walk away with a host of honors. They include being named a 2017 First Team NCAA Division II All-American, the 2016 East Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Year and 2015 ECC Rookie of the Year.

Saramago hails from New Hyde Park and is a graduate of New Hyde Park High School. About to begin his junior year at Loyola University in Maryland, Saramago led the Red Bulls U23 squad with 11 goals while recording one assist in 11 appearances. He was a key factor in New York scoring a league-leading 45 goals this past season.

As a sophomore, Saramago was named All-Northeast Region First Team and All-Patriot League First Team. As a freshman, he was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Year and for the week of October 11th in 2016 was named the NSCAA Division I Player of the Week.
