Overview: Sam Kerr. Continuing her remarkable run of play of recent weeks, it was the Australian International that once again came through for Sky Blue when her team needed her the most. With it looking as if Sky Blue would again fall to Chicago, a team they have never beaten, Kerr created some more magic. As the clock ticked toward the 90th minute, Sarah Killion received the ball before turning upfield with plenty of room in front of her. Taking advantage of the space, Killion drove a beautifully placed cross into the box. Going up high for the feed was Kerr, who at her peak put a head on the ball and drove it over Alyssa Naeher to get Sky Blue FC another late result at Yurcak Field. While Kerr’s goal sealed the Blue’s comeback from a two-goal deficit, goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan kept Sky Blue in the game throughout the second half, repeatedly making some very difficult point-blank saves. With the Canada international on her game as the last line of defense, Sky Blue FC began to turn up the tempo on the other side of the pitch.

Sky Blue FC Head Coach Christy Holly…
“We are delighted with the perseverance of our team. We fought it out to the very last minute in order to get the equalizer. Once again, the effort we saw from these players truly says everything about their incredible character. Going into next week, however, we know that we must fine-tune our performance so we do not make our lives so hard.”
