Injury Sidelines NYCFC’s Shelton

Shelton, NYCFC

Khiry Shelton will be out of action for up to six weeks after suffering a hamstring injury during New York City FC’s 2-0 win over Philadelphia Union.

Shelton entered the match at Talen Energy Stadium in the 71st minute replacing Jack Harrison. The 23-year old has made four substitute appearances to date this season coming off the back of 24 regular season games in 2016 where he scored four goals.

He is expected to miss home games versus Orlando City and Atlanta United and away matches at Columbus and Dallas. Team officials are hopeful that Shelton will be pack in the pitch vs. Real Salt Lake on March 17.
