Hofstra junior forward Lucy Shepherd was named the Colonial Athletic Association Co-Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending October 6.
She shares the award with Dominique Martinez, a senior forward at the University of North Carolina/Wilmington.
The native of Worcestershire, England, scored twice this past week as the Pride went 1-0-1. In a 2-2 draw against Northeastern, Shepherd scored Hofstra’s first goal. She then scored her team’s third goal in a 3-0 win over Charleston.
On the season, Shepherd has appeared in 13 matches for Hofstra (9-3-1, 3-0-1 CAA) with four goals and six assists.
This is the fourth time this season that a player for the Pride, who currently sit in first place in the CAA, has won a conference Player of the Week award. Previous winners include Lucy Porter twice and Miri Taylor.
Hofstra will be back in action on Thursday when they host James Madison at 7 p.m. at Hofstra Soccer Stadium.
