Two Hofstra soccer players received weekly honors from the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA).
On the women’s side, midfielder Jill Mulholland was named Co-Player of the Week, sharing the award with Ashley Herndon at James Madison University. From the men’s team, freshman Adam Savill was named CAA Rookie of the Week.
Mulholland (Levittown) received the weekly honor for the second time this season after helping lead Hofstra to a 2-1 win over first-place Northeastern. Mulholland set up the first goal of the game, sending a cross into Noriana Radwan in the 16th minute to allow the Pride to strike first. She doubled Hofstra’s lead in the 33rd minute, tapping in Emily Agudelo’s (Long Beach) free kick that rang off the crossbar.
Savill was honored after his career night against Drexel when he scored his first two collegiate goals and added an assist as in Hofstra’s 4-1 win. The Manchester, England-native set up Meshack Eshun Addy for the game’s first goal, sending a cross through the box. Then, he found the back of the net after a failed clear on a corner. He scored his second of the game early in the second half, firing home a cross from Nino Alfonso.
