Hofstra’s Holland Heading To Houston

It was a big day for Joseph Holland and Hofstra University’s men’s soccer program as Holland was selected by the Houston Dynamo with the 10th overall selection in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft.

During his collegiate career at Hofstra, he appeared in 79 games scoring 19 goals and 28 assists. The London, England-native was named Colonial Athletic Association Freshman of the Year in 2012 and was named to the All-Colonial Athletic Association First Team for three consecutive seasons.

In a message on Twitter, Holland said, “Thank you so much. I can’t wait to get down to Houston, meet all you guys and start working on winning MLS Cup.”

According to the university, Holland is the first member of the Pride to be selected in the MLS SuperDraft and the second drafted into MLS following in the footsteps of Gary Flood in 2007.
